1. What is O.A.H. and how do I measure it ?
O. A. H. = Over All Height
Is measured from ceiling down to bottom of fixture including any stems.
Chain is never included in over all height
2. What is Body Height or B.H. ?
The actual height of fixture itself - not including stems or chain.
3. What is A.D.A. ?
The American Disabilities Act. A federal regulation pertaining to commercial or public spaces, such as apartment buildings, stores, warehouses, corridors in buildings, etc.
Stating any wall sconce in a public area cannot project more than 4" off the wall
unless over 80" high.
4. What is a Medium Base or Edison Base socket ?
Also known as Standard Base.
It is a regular house bulb that is used in lamps.
5. What is a Candelabra base socket ?
It is the smaller based socket usually used in chandeliers.
6. What is a CFL bulb ?
CFL stands for Compact Fluorescent lamp.
7. Can I use those new Screw in Fluorescent bulbs in any of your fixtures ?
YES. There are screw in fluorescents for all sockets.
8. Why shouldn't I get a glass dome over 36" ?
Glass domes over 36" are very difficult to ship, and regardless of the amount of packing materials, are prone to breakage.
9. Why shouldn't I use incandescent bulbs in some acrylic sconces
and ceiling mount fixtures ?
The heat given off by incandescent lamps may affect the acrylic, causing it to discolor
or in some cases melt and burn.
10. Can I have a fixture made with 220 volt for European currents ?
YES. Versailles Lighting can manufacture both 110 and 220 volt fixtures.
11. I like a certain pendant, can I get it in a Ceiling Mount ?
YES. Most pendants can be made Ceiling Mount, also know as
Flush or Semi-Flush.
12. What do you mean by Wall Mount ?
Wall Mount is another name for Wall Sconce
